“The Juggernaut is described as physically unstoppable once in motion. He doesn’t tire from physical activity and is able to survive without food, water, or oxygen.” – X-Men
Facebook has been heavily critiqued worldwide about how effective it can be for business, and the economy as whole. According to a new report from the social media superstar, Facebook helped generate $17.6 Billion (€15.3 billion) to the European economy. That’s a lot of wampum!
Need more proof that Facebook, and by extension social media, is good for business? The report also notes that Facebook helps to support 232,000 jobs across Europe and its application economy is worth 1.9 billion euros. It also supports around 29,000 additional jobs.
One of the biggest hurdles in the social media business is convincing new clients that good social media marketing is worth paying for. Who can blame them? Many agencies struggle with moving the needle and proving their efforts online were the cause. On the front of convincing clients that Facebook can generate an ROI for their marketing campaigns, this report provides some great ammunition.
Facebook’s International Appeal
With this breaking news we can be sure to be hearing of more international success for Facebook. This can only create a more momentum for the social network juggernaut as it pursues its projected 1 billion users by August this year, and an IPO around the end of May.
By definition, a Juggernaut is a massive inexorable force, campaign, movement, or object that crushes whatever is in its path. Watch out Google+, it looks like Facebook just took on a few more of those traits.
