It used to be that when someone had a bad experience with a company, they would tell their friends, family and co-workers and start write angry letters. People still do that today, but now there’s a major difference- MILLIONS of people can see those angry letters (just ask Papa Johns).
So, how are companies combating this new trend of customer-complaints-gone-viral? Good reputation management (and listening/monitoring) is a good start. This infographic of the week explains why.

I’ve had a diary since I was in the 4th grade. Seriously! Going back into the pink, Scooby-Doo-themed pages now I feel embarrassed; reminiscing about past crushes and lost barrettes isn’t really my thing, these days, you know? Anyway. Keeping a diary (especially with another brother) taught me a thing or two about privacy, which means that when I first clambered into the chair across from the flickering screen of my desktop, I was also well-versed in the ways of keeping my secrets mine. The same, unfortunately, can’t be said for the rest of us surfing the web. While I have separate versions of every blog – one private, one public – there is one thing that is too big to split: Facebook.
Since Zuckerberg launched his massive social network, over 800 million active users have eagerly uploaded and shared pictures, argued over provocative statuses, left witty comments, liked links, searched for old friends, met new friends, and – as is evidenced by the popular Failbook site – made complete and total fools of themselves.
